Description

This educational wind turbine demonstration model and stand is custom made-to-order, lead time is usually 2-3 weeks.

This wind turbine educational model is ideal for science and technology students as it allows teachers and lecturers to quickly convey how a micro wind turbine works in practice.

Based on the popular AIR BREEZE marine wind turbine, which is classed as a micro wind turbine, the cut-away model allows for excellent observation of the electrical engineering properties, including the rotating magnets, slip ring brush contacts, electrical coil windings and printed circuit board (PCB).

It also demonstrates the mechanical engineering properties including: the aluminium casting, aerospace grade anti-corrosion coating, face and yaw bearings, rotor shaft, hub and blades.

By rotating the blades slowly, you can quickly and easily see how the magnets turn within the electrical coil windings.

By turning the turbine around on its lateral yaw axis in different directions, you can easily see and thus convey how the slip rings work to stop the power cables becoming tangled when the wind direction changes, saving a lot of explaining time!

Supplied with a robust mounting stand, this wind turbine educational tool is an excellent piece of teaching equipment, allowing students and teachers alike a hands-on learning experience.

The model is made from aluminium and weighs around 6Kg.

The blade diameter is around 1.2m and stands around 2.0m tall when on the mounting stand. The blades and stand can be removed for storage.
